Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
Montreal Leasing (a trade name of 9518-2358 Québec Inc.) respects your privacy and protects your personal information in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector and other applicable privacy laws. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have.
1. Who is responsible for your information
9518-2358 Québec Inc., doing business as Montreal Leasing, is responsible for the personal information it holds about you. We have designated a Privacy Officer who oversees our compliance with privacy law. You can reach our Privacy Officer at info@montrealleasing.ca, by phone at (514) 375-8393, or by mail at 6200 Henri-Bourassa Ouest, Montreal, Quebec H4R 1C3.
2. Information we collect
We collect the information you provide through our forms and during your dealings with us — such as your name, address, email, telephone number, date of birth, employment and income details, and other information needed to process a financing application. When you apply for financing, we and our partners may also collect credit information about you from credit reporting agencies. We also collect basic technical information (such as your IP address and pages visited) needed to operate and secure the site.
3. Why we use your information
We use your personal information to respond to your requests; to prepare, process, and evaluate financing, purchase, and lease applications; to verify your identity and information; to arrange financing with lenders; to communicate with you; to meet our legal and regulatory obligations; and to operate, secure, and improve our services. We only use your information for the purposes for which it was collected, unless you consent to a new use or the law allows it.
4. Consent
We collect, use, and share your personal information with your consent, which you give when you submit a form or otherwise deal with us, except where the law allows or requires us to act without consent. Because a financing application requires a credit check and the sharing of your information with lenders, providing that information and submitting the application constitutes your consent to those activities. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits, by contacting us; withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer process your application.
5. Credit checks and sharing with credit bureaus and lenders
To evaluate and arrange financing, we obtain credit reports and credit scores about you from credit reporting agencies, including Equifax and TransUnion, and we share your application and supporting information with the lenders and financing partners who may finance your purchase or lease. These agencies and lenders use your information in accordance with their own policies and applicable law. A financing application results in a "hard" credit inquiry that may appear on your credit file and affect your credit score.
6. Service providers and other disclosures
We may share your personal information with service providers who act on our behalf — for example, hosting, email, customer-relationship, and payment providers — who are required to protect it and use it only for the services they provide to us. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business. We do not sell your personal information. Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Quebec, including elsewhere in Canada or in other countries, in which case the information is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations. When it is no longer needed, we securely destroy or anonymize it.
8. How we protect your information
We take reasonable physical, organizational, and technological measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, taking into account its sensitivity. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately to any incident.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to withdraw your consent to certain uses, including marketing communications. You may also be entitled to receive certain information in a structured technological format (data portability). To exercise these rights, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below; we will respond within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
10. Changes and how to contact us
We may update this policy from time to time; the version posted on this site, with the "last updated" date above, applies. To exercise your rights or ask a privacy question, contact our Privacy Officer at info@montrealleasing.ca, (514) 375-8393, or 6200 Henri-Bourassa Ouest, Montreal, Quebec H4R 1C3.
